Conferment of Decoration to Mr. Masahiro Baba

A ceremony was held on 27 October 2026 in Tokyo to confer upon Mr. Masahiro Baba the national decorations of Commander of the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The distinction was conferred by His Royal Highness Grand Duke Guillaume, upon the recommendation of Prime Minister Luc Frieden, and presented by Ambassador Michel Leesch in recognition of Mr. Baba’s outstanding contribution to the development of commercial relations between Luxembourg and Japan.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Mr. Baba played a pioneering role in establishing and developing the presence of Luxembourg’s CERAMETAL, later CERATIZIT Group in Japan. Through his dedication, deep knowledge of the Japanese market, and commitment to building lasting relationships with partners, he contributed significantly to the development of a lasting and successful Luxembourgish industrial presence in Japan.

The distinction stands as a testament to Mr. Baba's exceptional role in advancing Luxembourg-Japan relations.
