On the 21st of November, the Embassy of Luxembourg in Tokyo hosted a ceremony in Kyoto to award Mr. Shigehiko Hattori, Senior Corporate Advisor to Shimadzu Corporation, national decorations on behalf of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Mr. Shigehiko Hattori, Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the Kansai Region and former chairman of Shimadzu Corporation, was conferred upon the Officer of the Order of the Merit, in recognition of his extensive contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Japan as well as his successful tenure as Honorary Consul.

Amongst his many accomplishments, his personal support to the participation of Luxembourg to the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai as well as well to the organization of high-level events that took place in this context contributed greatly to their success.

His engagement fostering the relations between Luxembourg and the Kansai region, which is well known for its dynamic academic, research and industrial environment, is deeply valued by the Grand Duchy.
