Official working visit of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel to Japan (16.-18.07.2015)
Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and Minister for Communications and Media, will be on an official working visit to Japan from July 16-18, 2015. He will be accompanied by Mr. Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance.
The Prime Minister will be received with military honors by his Japanese counterpart, Mr. Shinzo Abe. The two heads of government will then discuss various bilateral issues, current events in the European Union, as well as the relationship between the European Union and Japan following the EU-Japan Summit on 29 May, 2015.
In addition, Mr. Xavier Bettel will meet Mr. Shunichi Yamaguchi, Japanese Minister in charge of Information Technology Policy and Communication, as well as the members of the Japan Luxembourg Parliamentary Friendship League, whose president is Mr. Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
During their stay in Japan, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance will also have the opportunity to meet with representatives of the Japan Business Federation, as well as various Japanese companies active in the sectors of information and communications technology and digital finance.
Furthermore, Mr. Xavier Bettel will attend a reception organized at the residence of the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Tokyo where he can meet with representatives of the government and the Japanese business community, as well as with members of the Luxembourg community in Tokyo.
