Working Breakfast with the Parliamentary Friendship League Japan-Luxembourg and the Belgo-Luxembourg Market Council

Ambassador Kirsch hosted a working breakfast this morning with the members of the Parliamentary Friendship League Japan-Luxembourg (PFLJL) – President Yoshimasa Hayashi, Secretary General Masamune Wada, Mr Hidenori Hashimoto and Ms Mizuho Onuma – as well as the members of the Belgo-Luxembourg Market Council, Executive Director Norio Yamanobe, Former Chairman Takao Kusakari and Executive Director Minoru Sato.

During the breakfast, Ambassador Kirsch briefed the members of the PFLJL on the programme of their visit to Luxembourg next week. During this visit, the first one since 2008, PFLJL members will be received by Prime Minister Bettel, President of the Chamber of Deputies Di Bartolomeo, Finance Minister Gramegna and Chairman of the Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Foreign Aid and Immigration Committee Angel. They will also visit the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine at the University of Luxembourg in Belval, Luxembourg Satellite Company SES in Betzdorf, the village of Schengen, birthplace of the Schengen Agreements, and indulge in a winetasting event in Remich.

Ambassador Kirsch’s speech was followed by presentations on the Luxembourg economy and Schengen and the role of Luxembourg in Europe, delivered by LTIO and Embassy staff.
