Concert : United Instruments of Lucilin

Published Thursday January 23 2020

On 23 January 2020, the Luxembourg Embassy in Tokyo, in cooperation with the Okamura Company, organised a special concert of the United Instruments of Lucilin at the Embassy as a part of their Japan Tour. This concert in Tokyo comes in addition to two further shows in Kyoto and Yokohama, entitled « Silence », by composer Alexandre Desplat. « Silence » is a short story by Japanese writer and Nobel Prize winner, Yasunari Kawabata, whose subtle and nuanced universe, written in fluid and poetic prose, has inspired the duo of composer Alexandre Desplat and director-musician Solrey to create their first chamber opera. Luxembourg’s United Instruments of Lucilin performed the music of this “Silence”.

The event at the Embassy took place in the presence of the renowned Japanese composer, Mr. Toshio Hosokawa, who has composed a piece for United Instruments of Lucilin.
