Message from the Luxembourg Ambassador Paul Steinmetz

Dear web-surfer... welcome to the the "Luxembourg in Japan" site. It is my sincere hope that you will find here the information about my country you are looking for. But all information is by nature incomplete so why not visit Luxembourg and see for yourself?

A country so small that it definitely must be a very special place! Its beauty was praised by Goethe and Victor Hugo. Racine wrote on Luxembourg. Turner painted its countryside.

This site is therefore no more than a gate to Luxembourg and its surprises. Please explore by yourselves the sunny meadows, the gorgeous vineyards, the romantic castles and the dark forests of the Grand Duchy.

Like Japan, we are an affluent society, known for our steel making industry, financial centre and media sector. But just as Japan, being a well developed society we face similar challenges, like demographics, social security and environmental issues.

We have much to talk about.
